The Information Regulator publishes a "Guide on how to use PAIA" (Section 10). The Guide explains how to lodge requests, the fee structure and remedies available. The Guide is available from the Information Regulator's website and can be requested from the Information Officer listed above.

To make a request under PAIA, please follow these steps:
Timeframes: Wimmy will acknowledge receipt of a PAIA request and will process it in line with PAIA timelines. Where extension is allowed by law, the company will notify the requester with reasons.
Wimmy processes personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). The purposes of processing include service provision, human resources administration, supplier and client management, compliance and communication.
Categories of data subjects: employees, clients, suppliers, job applicants and contractors.
Types of personal information processed: names, contact details, identification numbers, qualifications, bank details (where necessary), contractual and transactional records, and project-specific data. Medical and clinical datasets are handled with additional safeguards where applicable.
Wimmy stores company, client and employee data on cloud storage platforms hosted in South Africa. The company does not routinely transfer data outside South Africa. Where exceptional transfers are required and permitted by law, appropriate safeguards will be used.
Wimmy implements technical and organisational measures to protect information against unauthorised access, loss or destruction. Measures include access controls, encryption where appropriate, regular backups and staff training. Records are retained in line with statutory and business requirements and securely destroyed when no longer needed.
